Developed as part of the traveling exhibition SKATEBOARDMUSEUM, this project narrates the evolution of skateboarding from its rudimentary DIY boards to its widespread cultural impact. The collection highlights the deep connections skateboarding shares with art, fashion, and music, charting its milestones and cultural significance over time.
Published by Gingko Press, the box set includes a series of limited-edition zines, each offering a distinctive piece of skateboarding history. Among its contents are an exploration of the DIY movement in skateboarding, a study of Harry Blitzstein’s artistic contributions, a tribute to Vans' legacy in skate culture, an in-depth retrospective on 1980s skate zines, and a compilation of punk and hardcore flyers curated by Jason Jessee.
