Description

From the Platform is a Graffiti Book that compiles incredible photographs by New York graffiti writer Paul Cavalieri (aka Cavs), capturing a pivotal era in New York graffiti history, from 1983 to 1989, known to writers as clean train writing, just after the explosion of the movement. During these years, the MTA, the company running New York’s subway system, imposed unprecedented repression and constant buffing. Yet the movement and its protagonists thrived, and these 176 pages with more than 300 photos (many previously unpublished) are proof. A few legendary names? Seen, Ghost, MiOne, Iz The Wiz, Cope, Dondi, Cem, Mack, TKid, Ven, BIo, Zephyr, Cavs, Vulcan, and many more. Pure history. Size: 22 x 28 cm.
