Niels Shoe Meulman "Black Book Graffiti in the 1980s"
Niels "Shoe" Meulman is a European graffiti pioneer, part of Amsterdam's first generation alongside legends like Angel, Bando, and Delta. This book documents his formative years through the contents of his legendary blackbook. The original, stolen in a 1989 burglary, mysteriously resurfaced years later, but its myth had already grown through underground photocopies. The story grew more complex when it was discovered a dedicated drawing by Keith Haring was missing from its pages. This publication is Shoe's own revised and annotated reconstruction of that long-lost artifact, tracing his stylistic evolution towards "Calligraffiti" and "Abstract Vandalism." A crucial document of writing history, this title is a must-have in any serious collection of Graffiti Books.
