Prologue: In 2004, ADAM handcrafted twenty enormous 50 mm wide DIY markers, each with a 200 ml reservoir, made entirely from materials purchased at hardware stores. These one-of-a-kind tools were then sent to some of the world's most influential taggers, from New York to Tokyo. With the material collected from these writers, he published “King Size,” a cult and innovative Graffiti Book that immediately set a new benchmark. Now, more than twenty years later, ADAM is publishing the second expanded edition, a book of almost 850 pages, with color images (the first book was in black and white) and with an additional project: a completely new 50 mm marker, once again embracing his characteristic DIY methods. This second-generation tool has been tested by almost three times as many artists, including the best writers from Berlin, Valencia, Naples, Hamburg, New York, and Paris. The list of contributors armed with the first marker is as follows: Craig Castleman, SACER, TWIST (Barry McGee), Joe Austin, FOE, KEGR, Andreas Berg, NUG, ZYS. The new writers involved with the second marker are: Ernesto Oroza, FONTO, BARTOER, HESHT & SPAIR, BLISS, OZ, TOMEK, MOSA, ESSO, MOPER, GUES & RIZOTE, WOMBAT, CANCER CARL & ADEK. This new edition is truly a collector’s piece. The beautifully produced paperback features black-edged pages and a reversible dust-jacket poster showcasing the handmade tools and SACER preparing his marker. Every copy arrives housed in a unique, hand-built cardboard cassette constructed by ADAM himself.
