Founded in 1985, Briko established itself as one of the most sophisticated manufacturers of technical sports eyewear, associated with the most winning Italian athletes like Alberto Tomba and Mario Cipollini, making its name in cycling and alpine skiing and soon gaining global success. On the 30th anniversary of its signature Detector shape, the brand from Monte Rosa merged forces with Retrosuperfuture for a licensing partnership. Together with Retrosuperfuture, a brand whose background is deeply rooted in Italian manufacturing and shares a common aim, Briko renewed its most recognizable silhouettes with state-of-art technologies, which make them sunglasses suitable for performance and lifestyle purposes. Originally introduced in 1992, Detector is one of the most recognizable designs by Briko, endorsed by Alberto Tomba, multiple Olympic winner in slalom skiing, and Mario Cipollini, gold medalist cyclist and unspoken style advisor. The high-end technical sunglasses were awarded the Compasso d’Oro, the highest accolade in Italian product design. Available also two newly introduced shapes: the Tongass and the Komi, both mounting category 3 polycarbonate lenses, guaranteeing elevated protection from sunlight, on a flexible TR90 frame, where the qualities of nylon are combined with the ones of carbon fiber.
